I'm sorry, but I'm so sick of seeing people getting pulled by "wenches" that I had to say something. The motorized device that pulls riders is called a winch. Please stop calling it a wench! I just recently saw this on a flyer for an event, so I think it's gone too far. American Heritage Dictionary... winch n. 1. A stationary motor-driven or hand-powered machine used for hoisting or hauling, having a drum around which is wound a rope or chain attached to the load being moved. 2. The crank used to give motion to a grindstone or similar device. wench n. 1. A young woman or girl, especially a peasant girl. 2. A woman servant. 3. A wanton woman. Ok, I feel better now.

I personally love getting pulled by a wench, even though it's definitely not often enough. Sorry Dave, just had too.

Is there like a waiting list for wenches? How does one get on that list?

So, if a young woman is driving the boat, aren't you being pulled by a wench?

our boat gets pulled up a set of tracks into the boathouse with a winch, but the person who runs it has always been referred to as the "Winch Wench" Some like that title, some don't, but if you're running the winch, you're the winch wench

I’m NOT gonna go on a limb and call Loren (the best winch operator we had at the Jib Jam) a wench. Or the other girls that were being winched. However, it could be said that occasionally wenches were at both ends of the winch.

i think it's all a marketing ploy to get other WWers to read specific threads. cuz maybe i'm off base here, but my guess would be the male WW population is more likely to click on a thread with "wench" in it than "winch!" LOL!

Maybe that's why my winch ad (in the classified section) was nuked!?! No worries, it sold anyway. Reminds me of the time my girlfriend gave me a pretty nasty look... After saying, "Babe, I'm going to build my own winch!!" -Blake
