I've tried to upload a .wmv and .avi video to wakepics.com and it just takes a very long time and then comes back and says there was no file. Anyone know what's up? The file in .avi form is 322mb and the .wmv is 228mb.

What's up is those files are way too big, you need to compress your files.

wow that's a huge file. no one would bother downloading it even if you could upload it. yeah, the quality will be a lot worse when you compress it but try to get it down to 10 - 15MB. since you're putting into .wmv format, use the 768Kbps setting and it should be fine unless it's a long video. in that case split it into shorter segments, no more than about 5 mins each.

the whole video was only 4 mins... i used premier and i hate compressing my videos. i ended up putting the final into movie maker and it did some wierd stuff to it. a lot of ghosting that i didn't see in premier, or in the big file. so i decided to just post the intro. it still has some ghosting. i'll work on that later. thanks for the help.

oh, here's the link if you wanna check it out. it's pretty funny

i agree that the wakepics ia and ui could definitely use some help...

as for compressing videos - what version of premiere are you using? im using pro and it has fairly good pre-set compression algorithms. if you want folks to view your films over the web you'd better get familiar with compression. and if you really care about compression quality - buy media cleaner pro.
