Hey guys, I was just trying to get some feedback on opening an independent service center in the DFW area. Any input on this subject would be greatly appreciated. I am a current boat owner and don't know of anybody who really specializes in wake board boats for service in the DFW area. Of course the obvious things that we would be handling would be 100 service, impeller jobs, underwater gear, fiberglas work, boat detail etc. Thanks for any help you can give me on this.

Interesting ??
So no boat sales only repair, upgrades and detailing?
I will be interested to hear what folks think as well..great thread.
IMPO it will be tuff...unless you already have a base of customers or a large number of poeple looking for a placeto take there boat for service.Wich I am guessing is why you started this thread. I dont know the market in DFW. so I cant really comment on the area. But am interested in what people think about the idea.thanx again

Possibly. I hate having to drive my boat all the way to Tyler and I refuse to deal with Buxton.

Its a great idea My brother owns a shop here in Portland and has been doing the exact same thing for the last 14 years no boat sales just service, repair and upgrades.I have seen work from all the dealers and it does not stack up.My impression is most dealers are more concerned about the sale rather than service.Set your self apart be more knowledgeable and offer superior service at better rates than the dealers and you will build a loyal following. In my opinion this should not be hard as I have found through the years that most boat guys know more about their boat than the dealers anyways

We already have a couple that have really good reputations and one of them makes house calls.

What do you bring to the table that would potentially make you better than the alternatives?
