I have a 98 san/ss and just got a wakesurf, had it out yesterday and am trying to figure out what speed i need for the best wake? i could ride it but just coudnt quite get to the point of throwing the rope in! what speed and recommendations do you all have? i have a fly high sac on each side of the motor, 500lbs total and had 7 ppl in the boat, and was riding on the port side. Thanks alot.

riding on the port side is going to be your problem. Due to the rotation of the prop it kindof put us regular footer surfers at a disadvantage.

I know some of the guys on here have an awesome wake on that side, and I'll take note to their weight set up. But when I had my '97 SAN we could never dial in the wake.

On the other hand the Starboard side was huge and curled perfectly... so I tried to learn to ride goofy

Port side is just as good/better on our 95 SS

Don't know our speed but our ballast is:
500 port side rear corner
500 ski locker
400 bow
The pictures had like 4 people, 3 on port side, 1 driving

Jeff we got Kathleen's 210 to be money on the left side, just fill both your bags and have the people sit on the back left side, and 10-12 was about what we were running. Except your boy from the whole Lake Dunlap mud incident was there (seriously) so it probably threw everything off. Just drive around for a bit staring at the wake before anyone rides and figure out what looks good. Kind of hard to hold those speeds though w/o PP, I think we both need to buy it. As for the shape you are looking for, look at the pics, big and smooth (STS) with a nice curl, but not too much.
