I think its great that malibu has great boats at a intro price.I know that they are calling it the 21v;however, is it the same boat as the 08 VLX? Why doesnt CC release the older 210 model as a intro boat, and MC drop the x-1 price to that 39999 price a few yeasrs back. I think that Malibu understands the economy and willl perserver in these tough boat sales years.

If you are limited on your production capacity why make a boat that you make 10k on when you can make a boat you make 15k on? I have no idea how much they actually make per boat, but this is their reasoning I believe.

Now if these companies aren't selling the more expensive boats then maybe it would make sense to build more of the cheaper bargain boats.

Back to the new Ride series. Does anybody know what the msrp for the 21 and 23 are? What is standard on it?

I read on TheMalibucrew.com that MSRP for the 21v will be around $45k.

I love my 2005 Vride. The lack of "bling" compared to the VLX doesn't bother us at all. And it compares very well with any other make of boat.

It is also missing the bow ballast but I haven't needed that yet either. And if it does, then I'll stick a sack or some lead under the seats. For now I like having anchor, orange vests, & ropes stored under there.

This hull is the same as the 2005-2008 VLX hull.

The interior is different though and many standard options on the VLX are options on the vRide.

For what its worth, the 05-08 VLX had the bow ballast as an option as well. The main difference is I think the bow ballast on the older VLX/vRide was not available.

you need weight in the bow in this boat. i know because i own it and have my wake pretty dialed. i run stock ballast including bow and then another 500 all the way stuffed in the walkway and another 500 on the floor toward the rear seats, plus the crew and wedge. wake is money. so with that i heard you can only get the vride with the 500 center tank? true or not. if you can option this boat to make the 05-08 vlx that will be so money and i bet you will see alot of them.

just to throw an example.
i bought a 2007 vride brand new in 06. it was about 40k, but after options, tax, fees, etc, i walked out exactly at 50k. i have it pretty loaded with tower speakers, floating wedge, 3 sacs, racks, etc.

if the new vride starts at 45k, i would imagine to get it moderate-solid with options you are looking at 53ish.... ??
