I have an 05 X-2 and have not. I'm sure it can happen, but that is what the water separater(sp) is for...

We have an '02 and probably the first time we loaded up the starboard side we took in about 2 gallons from what the mechanic said. My husband fashioned a "snorkel" out of pvc and have not had a problem with it since then.

Michele,

do you mean that you fit something over the gas cap?

No, we actually remove the gas cap and screw the "snorkel" in. It is about 6" tall with a small vent hole on the back.

Michele, you may want to market that little item.

Hmmmm... interesting. I haven't had that problem... yet, but I surf almost every time we go out. Perhaps the "snorkel" is in order.
