I like to purchase a spare for my boat at Costco or Sam's Club but don't know which one to get. What should I be looking at (cranking)? I have an 05 SAN 210.
Thanks

I think Costco carries the Optima-go with the blue top.

The most important question is: What do your battery cables look like?

It is common for boats to use a lug terminal (a terminal with a 5/16" hole in it), in which case you need to get a battery with "binding post" terminals. This generally means "Marine" or "Deep cycle" type battery.

If your boat has the clamp type battery terminals then you need to get a battery that has standard top posts.

It is also possible that your boat uses the batteries with side posts, which would be a drag.

My '03 SAN uses the old fashion top clamps.

Once you have figured out what terminal type you need then I would get the biggest battery that would fit in the space. I do recommend a deep cycle battery if you intend to run stereo equipment with the engine off.
