The truth about Raleys

I am about to try to learn my first invert and am trying to decide between a raley and a HS Backroll. My friends seem to have two different perspectives on which one is easier to learn. Some of my friends swear that a raley is the easiest trick they have learned and others say it is much harder than the backroll. Do you guys have any input on this. I would like to learn the raley first, because I think that it will be easier to transition into other moves quickly (nuclear glide, etc)than the backroll. What do you guys think? Should I learn the raley or backroll first, and how difficult is each one to learn?
