It wasn't me! Guess we missed the show by a few hours. It's getting pretty crazy in the bay now that summer's here...we're seeing some wild stuff.
Tubers and jet skis....I wish they'd get a license law around here! Frightening!

Bayliner usually = inexperienced new boater.

Hope everyone pulls through okay, especially if there are young kids involved.

Counterclockwise driving pattern??? That should make that body of water real choppy in no time.

I caught that too. Counterclockwise, 100 ft from shore. The cove is not very wide. So, pretty much, we'll keep driving our pattern of riding back and forth over our own path. But, yes, 5 boats in the bay going in circles and it's a soup bowl.

From what I heard yesterday, it was 4 girls with some guys....looked maybe 20'ish with the father's boat. But, I also heard that no one was seriously injured, but the video Joe posted said 3 were thrown out of the bow. So, who knows.

Boats and water can cause some serious pain. Wish people would learn to have some respect and fear of both.

Was there fog or something, or did the Capt just not see LAND approaching?

We left around noon and I think this happened at 4. No fog. I've heard that the driver was adjusting the radio, that the driver was looking back at the tubers, or that they were trying to avoid a kyack (sp?). Not sure which is true.
You can clearly see the shore, so he/she was definitly not looking at where they were going.

It was a nice day on the bay Monday. A little over cast in the morning, other wise clear.
I missed seeing that by an hour too.
Definitely not paying attention for this to have happened.

Police said the boat was traveling an estimated 25 mph at the time of the accident and alcohol was not a factor.

My friend is the boater's soccer coach...a woman with little boating experience was driving, she was talking to a passanger, driving too fast and decided to try to adjust the stereo....didnt even see the rocks coming.... No massive injuries...broken bones and a few stitches they were very lucky they didnt get hurt worse and didnt hurt anyone else

Thx for the real story. Good to hear nothing serious, but 3 getting ejected from the bow sounded pretty bad.

Any chance they'd leave the boat up there as a reminder to other drivers?

Sheri- wasn't out on the bay and don't live very far away from the area.
I know better than to spend anytime in the water anywhere Mission Bay. I grew up in that stuff and use to fish there with my pops waaaay before it turned into the sludge pot it is now.

BTW- I find it highly insulting of you to insinuate that I would be someone who would make power turns.
