So today i got the chance to ride a Slingshot Wakeboard. It was the 142 recoil 3stage rocker board. It was so sick!!! There boards have flex! Its not like a hyperlite rome, its a normal wakeboard, but it has flex! The bigger you go the softer the landings are. You can butter and play on these boards. So much fun! Its taking snowboarding to the water! The bindings mounting system is so badass! its a 4 hole pattern so there is no heal or toe lift. You can control the board so much better. Its like wearing snowboard boots. I cant wait to buy a setup! Now the real question is, should i turn my premier into a bench, or hang it on the wall?

Saw the adds in Alliance, sounds like a good idea, but I have to say that I'm not to fond of the name sling****.

Slingshot has been around for awhile in the kiteboarding world
The old designer was from hood river oregon. Same guy that shaped the old iconns I think. Not sure who they use now.

So, with a 4 hole design, do you have to buy their bindings as well?

Is there a normal amount of pop and feel at the wake? Do you have to ride them more tail heavy to get more pop or something?

The boots look nice and comfy and I am intrigued by the flex of the boards. I have ridden the Roam and I have always wondered what it would be like to ride a board with flex that had some fins or channels.

You could probably use all of the bindings that use the 'claw' design like hyperlite, CWB, obrien, etc. but you would have to buy an extra set of them.

i have an old neptune that has the 4 hole pattern and i use my 3ds bindings on it sometimes. i happen to have extra claws and it works to use 4 claws to one boot. no flex at all, but kinda overkill.

you cannot run other boots on a slingshot board but you can run slingshot boots on other boards

Haha i wish i was colin wright! No i just met the head guy at slingshot at an AWS wakeboard comp at koppert lake...got some phone numbers and info bla bla bla i got to test one out. Basicly if you are going to demo a board, demo it because once you ride it, you will want it. The bindings are kinda stiff but i liked them. The footbeds are not as soft as like a pair of belmonts, but its ok because since the board flexes when you land, it just dose not hurt when you go way big. Its a pretty cool feeling.

according to wakeboarding magazine's new gear guide, there's supposed to be an adaptor plate so you can use your old bindings.

Anyway, I think it'd be a lot of fun to try out one of these boards. I don't wakeboard a whole lot anymore, but if I'd look into anything, it would be one of these boards, for sure. Maybe some day, because here and there I kind of miss it.

And the shaper is tony logosz (sp). he used to work at neptune with bill mccaffray and he shapped bill's first pro model (the impala). Legendary!

I just got off the phone with the guy at Slingshot and I clarified the binding issue. Apparantly you can use Slingshot bindings on other boards with an adapter plate, but you can't use other bindings on Slingshot boards.

"launching in 2006",???? it is now winter 2007, but the web site is no different than it was several months ago (just an introduction cartoon) when i first heard of it... though i cant say when that was... atleast 3 months ago though.
hope there putting more effort into the boards than "tube light" or whatever that plasticy plexy glass thingy was. but if collin is in with it than im sure the boards will be quite different

collin wright, no offense, has no taste in a wakeboard or making one. the slingshot may ride great but the graphics and the shape make it look like a piece of shat
