Get involved with your local scene. Go to the comps, boatshows and events. Get to know the product reps and be as social and outgoing as possible. Being sponsored is as much about your personality and attitude as it is your riding skills. Seeking sponsorship can be a difficult thing. If you make the right impressions it'll often come to you.

ride really really good, and do something that hasn't been done before, and all the stuff that has been done before, make it look really really good. (Message edited by thane_dogg on January 17, 2007)

Sponsors are looking for people to sell their product. They want: 1. Good public speakers. 2. Able to hold a good clinic. 3. Intersting to watch. 4. On the podium often. 5. Won'te embarrass them with drugs, drunkeness, bad behavior, etc.

"5. Won'te embarrass them with drugs, drunkeness, bad behavior, etc." although if you are good enough, this kind of behavior can be overlooked.

Hey man, don't worry about getting sponsers yet. a couple years back that was one of the things i wanted most, but the only real reason was just to get free product and be able to tell people im sponsered. If it doesnt happen right away, doen't worry. all last summer i had no board or binding sponser and it was probably the best thing that could have happened for my riding. Let others see you ride, your attitude, and do things different to stand out. Be patient and it will come!

""5.
