proper way to edge

What is the proper way to edge, I am getting better air but my landings are bad. I usually land and my back leg kicks out from under me. I am not sure what is ment by edge the wake. Is there a diagram or drawn illustration that someone is aware of that shows detail the proper way to jump a wake.

If the back leg kicks out from under you your not absorbing your landing. Trying sucking up you landing a bit more.
