I am looking for an open bow wakeboard boat in the low to mid $teens, but need to know what boats have a good wake. I am looking at a 1997 moomba outback, a malibu Echelon, a Mastercraft prostar 205 open bow, mastercraft maristar. How are your wakes? What do you suggest in this price range? If anyone has something in this price range even remotely close to St. Louis let me know. Thanks for your help

Prostar 205 is probably your best bet of those three. It is closest to the old x-2 xstar (now x1) and throws a nice wake.

Used to have a 92 PS 205. It will throw a meaty wake with ~2000lbs. You could make it really steep or rampy depending on how much of the weight you moved forward.

Yeah.. PS 205 is the best I think. Its a "classic" in wakeboarding.

Tim i agree -- i have a 94 ps 205 -- i am very pleased w/ the wake -- you have to add weight, but ther are many ways to add...

I have heard this about the Prostar, but wakeboard boats around STL are hard to find period, so I am trying to keep my options open. I can't find any sport nautiques around here either. All I have seen are moomba, tige, and a few malibus. There is a nice Echelon, and outback not too far but I have never boarded off one. Anyone have experience with any other boats in this range?

if you don't go w/ a mc --get the bu -- echelon is ok-- but not as good as a euro f3 or so --

Haha sorry about the "Water Dog". Everyone else on there seemed to have their boats named so I felt I needed to keep up. It is a 99' sportstar. I payed 17k for it in 2004 with 260 hours. It isn't a very big boat but when you are in the price range I was you are going to learn you might as well forget about room. There is a plus to that though. I can put all the weight I need in that boat and it being that size the 350 in it don't care. I do all the serviceing on it so I'm slowly learning the boat inside and out. Feel free to ask more questions.
