i know you must be pretty sick and tired of hearing this question. But, finally my mothers letting me buy a new board. I used to ride a 2004 player 138 and its pretty messed up since daniel watkins usd it. I'm stuck between 4 boards, 2005 substance, subject, 3ds and era. I am curently riding behind the boat but i'll soon soon ride mostly cable, so i want a good board for sliding (ramps and rails) and trying raleys in the curves. Also are the removable fins (i.e on the subject and 3ds) bad for rails?

Personally, out of the 4 I would go with the ERA. but have you looked at the state board. I like that on the cable.

yeah, if you are into flats tricks, i would recomend the LF team as the board for you. if you are going to be an o-dub rider, i would say either a premier, era, or a lyman

O-dub = OWC The team is really good for air tricks. If you're into that.

The team is fine for sliders. Just most people go for a molded in fin design for sliding.

On the cable, three-stage and cont' don't really apply to jumps.

I ride a Substance and it is the first board I have ever put on for the first time and felt comfortable with. I hit a lot of sliders and kickers and if takes the abuse just scratches.

I have to throw one more board into the ring. I am always riding my GatorBoards Gonzales 142 at the cable park. Its super slick on the rails. If your not interested in GB. Go for the substance.

i've been riding cable for 3 years now and i can tell you one thing....the board won't really make a difference on cable as much as it will behind the boat. i've got a firend who can throw ralleys on a slalom ski. if i was going to recomend a board to you i'd say go with a hyperlite for one reason- they're probably the most durable boards and they've got a good selection to choose from. whatever you do don't waste your cash on a lighter core like a platnum or a dna. these WILL break quicker and cost more! during the summer i ride cable everyday and average hitting about 30 to 75 rails a day. the key to keeping a bord in good shape is epoxy. any time you see a little delam or crack fix it up with epoxy.

now i've cut it down to three (substance, era and team) i like all three and most people here would probably agree that all three are good boards. Now i've got one thing that i've realized that i want, i want a board that when u ride it, u could go straight forever just enjoying the way it ride, the kind of board that u can ride and never get angry at, the kind of board that lets u truly wakeboard in peace.

I ride the GatorBoards Harris at Texas Ski Ranch. Itsreally flaton the bottom so it makes it really slick on the fun boxes and it sper stable on the sliders.
