This question is kind of in line with another thread that is fairly recent, but this is more specific.

On a hs backroll, where exactly do I need to be looking to spot the landing (board? Horizon?), stop my rotation, and fall straight down into the water? When I try them, I get plenty of pop, the rotation is fine, but my problem is that I can't stop the rotation - so I end up landing hard on my right foot and fall to the right and back.

Thanks in advance.

That's more of a timing issue. If you want to take them bigger then you have to slow your rotation down. Also you probably want a little more weight on your front foot if you are falling back and away.
