LET GET THIS STRAIGHT....
I've gotten into too arguments with too many people trying to figure out what grab is called what, because a few names differ from wakeboarding to snowboarding to skateboarding and some just are impossible on a wakeboard. I drew this up because i hated most of the pics/charts i found on google. I can edit it if I got anything wrong but HELP ME OUT HERE.

How would you do a chicken salad on a wakeboard? You have to have at least one hand on the rope. I suppose that if you had enough slack you could put the other arm up in the air.
Is there a difference between roast beef and stalefish? I think those are just snowboard grabs.

Roast beef is between the legs stale is not.
Crail is back hand front where nuclear is.
nuclear grabs should not be allowed. Ever. Ever. Nuclear is back hand to to the edge not the nose.

I'm thinking of something different, not chicken salad
back hand, behind and in-between the legs, reach through the legs and grab toe edge... If a name doesn't exist, then maybe we should call it the pretzel haha... It's pretty hard!

You are missing my personal favorite - THE MEAT CURTAIN!. It's a double roast beef grab without the handle. Let the meat air out! Extra points if you can get the handle back haha

yeah, in wake it's called a slob. I've seen a lot of guys (myself included) do slob as their first grab in a 360/540.

I know this upsets many but I like the look of a slob grab on a frontside spin. It puts the rider in a nice crouch position that you get with indy but also 'leads' the board in the spin. Anyway, each to their own. As long as you grab something in the air! (Someone once said you should always come down with your hands full)

I'd rather see no grab than a bad grab. Spins that aren't grabbed can look good, but a bad grab is always a bad grab.
Grabbing outside the feet is just sloppy and doesn't exhibit good control over a trick.

Yeah, I'd better do a straight air rather than grab like that!

That's a Crail! Totally different grab since it's back hand on front of board!

lol right. Because all of you who are missing your grabs are doing off axis japan air 360s so you get excused if you miss by two inches and end up in front of your boot...
I heard grabbing your boots mid air is cool as well
I hold the line- that would look better grabbed mute or crail. Alex Graydon knows

Slob and lien grabs are legitimate. The thing is, they're actually direction dependent and most people in wakeboarding don't know that. lein is like a melon grab on a frontside air (again, fully legitimate, invented by neil blender). A slob grab is the same as a mute but done frontside. Indys are also direction dependent: on a frontside air it's called a frontside grab, a backside air is an indy.
Still grab in between or right by the bindings, and not outside of them.

One of the most underrated riders ever IMO was Mike Schwenne...the king of grabs, pokes, and putting steeze in the most basic tricks. He can make a HS W2W 180 look nasty.
