I recently completed the Fresh Air Exhaust (FAE) upgrade on our 2007 Malibu V-Ride with floating wedge.

Pros: Our goal was to reduce the engine noise. It 100% accomplishes this goal, we can have a conversation in the boat talking at a normal level at wakeboard speed. Riders can hear the tunes from the Wetsounds better while riding.

Cons: The install was a bit tricker than I thought it would be. If you own a drill press you will be fine, if not find someone that does,(it will go much smoother).

Here are some pictures:

I didnt need a drill press to drill the holes in the tubing. Using a hack saw to cut that tubing was a pain though. Well worth it. I loved my FAE.

More pictures. Not sure if it's because I'm posting from iPhone, but the photo upload on this site sucks!

Overall we are really happy with the FAE upgrade, it's reduced the noise level considerably. I would recommend it!

(I would strongly recommend you locate a drill press, and grinder or chop saw before starting it will greatly speed up the project).

Hope this helps anyone else thinking about this upgrade.

We have surfed, slalomed and wake boarded since the install and wakes are all unaffected.
