I know it sounds ghetto, but has anyone used an RV cover for your boat? I have a 2 year old sunbrella cover that ripped at my bow light and is shreaded now. I want a cover that goes over the whole boat including my tower. My expensive choices are to have a custom cover made, replace the current cover and buy an additional tower sock, buy one of those portable garages. All of those choices are about $1000-2500 (29 foot boat). So I was looking at those RV covers. They are realatively cheap (200-350). The pro's are that the RV cover would go over the whole boat and go all the way over the trailer too. Right now My cover, if it didn't have the rip, still doesn't cover the boat right. I bought it before I added the tower and if I buy another one I would need the slits on the sides for the tower arms. Right now I am starting to get shadowing between the tower arms on the boat because the cover doesn't go down far enough anymore.

It could work, but yea, ghetto. And if you had any wind or rain it could be a mess in a hurry. I guess since your in AZ that won't ever be the case.

I had my factory MC cover modded for my tower for $50. And I've had them patched numerous times for a lot less.

I am looking at the ones that have straps on the bottom. I should be able to connect just like any RV does. They don't blow off. We do get a ton of wind in AZ. Monsoons are crazy too. I would still put on my ripped cover as I do now under the RV cover so the water wouldn't be a problem. The boat is kept in storage, so I don't really care what it looks like, so long as it is protected from the sun.

Yea, I don't think the tieing it down will be the issue. It'll be the fact that the cover isn't the same shape as the boat so there will always be some loose cover that the wind can catch or the rain pool up in.
