I have been trying download songs from my Ipod to the hard drive in my 08' Malibu radio. I read the manual but it is not much help. Not really sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow malibu has a hard drive in its radio? Thats dope. How big is the drive? You would think every boat manufacturer would be all over this seeing as most people use their ipod and not the actual cd/radio part of the radio, and would make it one less thing to have remember to bring with you/worry about breaking out on the water.

Thanks Larzon, I will give it a try tonight. John, my sales rep couldn't remember how big the actually hard drive is, but malibu gives you a 2G thumb drive along with it. I just want to eliminate extra steps and download directly from my Ipod.

I don't think you can download directly from the ipod. I believe you can only download from the USB drive they give you with the system. Plus, the music has to be in a non-Apple format to use on the hard drive, such as mp3. So you'll want to convert your music if it isn't already in mp3 format, copy it to the USB drive, plug that in and follow the instruction above.

2007 Malibu's have 1 gig of memory in the stereo. I have mine loaded up with all mp3s it can hold.

the 2008 system is different though, i know b/c they switched away from Sony (big mistake)

If you've got your iPod hooked up through the USB it will still copy the song.
