I just finished installing the fly-high kit in my 2004 X-star. The rear bags are pushing so hard against the engine compartment walls that it is knocking them out of the track.

Has anyone else had this problem (i think i've done a decent search and could not find any older posts)? Any ideas on how to correct?

thanks

J

not sure if it possible to do the same on the x-star, but p-hat in cincy (paul bros) has an 04 205V custom ballast install page on wakesiderides where he actually installed metal support rods for the seperation panels. pretty slick, you should check it out. it didn't look all that complicated or costly, but looked clean and solid.

p-hat's solution is excellent. In the short term, you can run a 1/2 inch piece of plywood between the bags and the plastic compartment walls to give more lateral support. Make sure to sand the edges and make it slightly longer than the walls. Again, just a temp fix. The wood will soak up water pretty fast.
