PVC Sheeting for a Kicker

I am building a kicker and I want to use pvc sheeting for the surface. The only supplier I have really found is http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=usplastic&category%5Fna me=115&product%5Fid=9997

I am looking at the 48" x 96" sheet and they have several different thicknesses 1/8", 3/16", 1/4". What do I really need as far as durability and flexibility is concerned?

Each thickness is a step up in price.

I would say 1/8" would be too thin and 1/4 would not be very flexible. Shooting from the hip I would put 3/16 at just right

go to home depot. ask people who work there where the FRP panels are. they go on the walls in bathrooms. one side flat, one side textured. texture up!

FRP from home depot is around $ 35 per sheet.

How do the FRP panels treat boards? The stuff that they use at KC Watersports (HDPE I believe) works pretty well and doesn't tear up boards that bad. It is quite expensive though.}

i use a roam when hitting rails and kickers...it takes less abuse on the kicker (with FRP) than my trex rails.

FRP sounds like the way to go.

I would agree that FRP is a good surface. a lot of restaurants use them in their kitchens and such. They can take some abuse.

Also wanted to point out that they should also have channel type connectors, corners pieces, and even plastic screw caps and such available right there so you can really do a professional job.

Texture side up? Really? It doesn't slowly start shredding layers of your board away?

Wakeviolator is right. go with FRP with texture up. it slides way better because there is less surface area draging across your board. its cheap and works great.

with the texture side up there will be less surface are contact between your board and kicker, hence, making it faster. less contact = less friction = more slcik. its physics, man!
