i dont have a winch. but i would assume you would want it just as fast as you ride behind a boat with. i ride at 24 mph. so i would want to ride atleast that fast
no for winching you only go about 20 mph at the most. for the serious guys that do the huge gaps they get goin a little faster but 20 mph at the most should do it for most people. when im skating i only get up to about 17 i think.
jason, for real? why do you ride slower on a winch? i would think faster, when i ride behind the boat, i can ollie higher when the boat is going faster.
The winch I ride on pulls us at around 23 to 25 mph. I like it because it gives me the same control on my board that I'd be looking for behind the boat. Makes me alot more comfortable when if I'm trying to bonk off stuff.
Jason is right. You do go slower on a winch usually between 17 and 20. Mainly because thats what the winch speed normally is. And its a little different then behind boat because you are hitting more rails and you don't need to go any faster.
most of my winching is done from deep water starts so that is also a reason for the speed. when not doing deep water starts we are typically hitting rails so i et goin a hair faster but not more than 20 mph i dont think.
