How far would you travel for a Cable Park?

What is the greatest distance you would travel by car to use a cable park, and how would you envision it

i plan on driving 7 hours to the KC cable park this summer for a weekend.

I've about 10 or more cable parks within 1.5hours drive... My closest two are 15minutes away (one right and one left rotation)

Unfortunaly I have to drive 30minutes to get to my boat...

I drive 45 minutes daily to TSR, would drive a bit further, but not much. Fortunately I have a little RSX-S that gets good gas mileage. I don't think I'd drive my Hummer that far on a regular basis.

I usually do the 22 hour drive to orlando 1/2 a year, but stay for a few months.... kinda cheating

I would drive up to an hour a few times a week and up to 4 hours a couple times a month if possible. I wish they would put one in Nashville or Atlanta. I would go there as much as possible.

I left for Orlando at 1pm the Monday before Thanksgiving and got back Wed morning at 6am. 780 miles one way. 24 hours of driving for about 4 hours of riding. Worth every minute of it.

not far we have one in Texas about 3.5 hrs away from me and ive only been once in five years that its been open.I own a boat and there are a lot of boats i can ride behind close to me so no need for the cable.

However we have two more coming that will be an hour away in fort worth so id say maybe in that case once a week to learn sliders etc and just to get on and off water quickly.

although im the wrong one to ask because i feel that these cables,rail jams in pools,winching and other forms of activities done on a wakeboard arent truly wakeboarding.

why?

well there no WAKE involved so no boat and no wake it cant be WAKEboarding in its pure form.I like wakeboarding that way it was intended to be not being drug along on a rope across obstacles.IMO that skateboarding in a way ,hell you can most likley grab a skateboard take the whells off or a snowboard and make it around a cable park almost as easy and do similiar things.the wakeboard under feet doesnt neccessarily make it WAKEboarding IMO.

eh, I disagree. Wakeboarding of course originally came from being behind a boat with a wake... its how the name came about, but with technoligical advances we are now able to do this same sport wherever a cable or winch may be. Now its not the wake that makes wakeboarding wakeboarding... its the water, the pull, and being in a wakeboard. I figure if you have those 3 things... you're truly wakeboarding.

2nd point- If cable riding isnt truly wakeboarding, then it would need a new name, because it wouldnt be wakeboarding at all. Now if we called it something different wouldnt that seem weird. Think about it, most professional cable or boat riders can usually switch off to the other and still ride very well. but thats just my 2 cents :-)

my vote is:
if you are riding a WAKEBOARD on WATER in the liquid state it is WAKEBOARDING.

Boat, Jetski, Pontoon, Winch, Cable, Trucks, or rope tied up and a fast moving stream under you... its all wakeboarding

Nick and others im not arguing or making a stand its just an opinion and i never aid it wasnt wakeboarding,i said it wasnt wakeboarding in it "Pure" Form.I love to wakeboard not winch,cableboard,or hit rails in a parking lot.IMO alot of this is being done for a few reasons but IMO i think some riders are bored with the boat or the sport and want the attention and appreciation of other action sports can relate too.They want to add more danger and elements that crossover but again this isnt PURE wakeboarding as their is no WAKE,roots to wakeboarding..

Im not a hater i go to a lot of rail jams anbd watch some of this but of late after ten plus year wakeboarding ,this stuff bores me now,seen one pool rail jam seen them all.Id still rather be out in a boat with my bros and hoes wakeboarding behind the boat and socializing the way it was intended .

all opinions for sure..no hate here just my view..

I get bored watching any sport. When I go watch a wakeboarding event, all I think about is how I wish I was wakeboarding.

This reminds me of the slalom skiers complaining about how watching wakeboarding is boring compared to watching slalom. Are we now going to argue when wakeboarder throws an air trick out in the flats that it isn't a wakeboarding trick in it's "PURE" form?

John they are behind the boat and chances are that trick was just a sequence in between other wake tricks being done..so yes it counts as pure wakeboarding! :-)
