Board base repair

What is the best way to repair a small groove in the base of a wakeboard? Can I use P-Tex like on a snowboard?

i use marine tex then sand it down and you can use a sharpie to make it the same color as your board. One of my boards got thrown out of the boat while I was towing it at 65mph and slid 30 feet on pavement. I redid the entire bottom and it is holding up great.
