Nope not at all, i like to see how "cool" we can make things on a budget. It would be awesome to go out and buy a brand new boat but i do a lot of other things so i have to improvise to get all the toys in the garage according to the wifey!

2003 Supra Launch SSV. Family friend purchased it new and didn't use it much. We bought it from them in 2008 for 24,000. They didn't want the hassle of advertising and having people come to their home. All I did was add tower speakers and upgrade the size of the rear ballast bags. Had 102 hours on it when we purchased it. Always garage kept.

Gotta love the originals that started it all. Longest running hull ever produced.
1100hrs and still kicking. Shines like the day it rolled off the showroom floor.
Ripped out tanks put in 750's, added an integrated bow sac as well with some pop products bags.
Ripped out the actuator for the sun deck and installed a latch and gas shocks.
Upgraded the stereo over the years to now
(4) Wetsounds XS-650's
(2)Rev 8's
Polk 12inch Sub
(2) Syn 4's
WS 420SQ.
Hard to pull the trigger on an upgrade when you own it and the wake still is one of the best.

I am curious about that Session wake. I had an opportunity to steal one a few years back but wasn't quite ready not knowing enough about them. Been looking for one ever since because the few people that have them rave about what a great value they are. Comments?

1987 Sanger TX
- Bought in 2005 for $8,000
- New tower last fall - $1,200
- 1 board and 1 ski rack - $450 - not in photos
- will probably be the last "wake" boat I own until I get really old and get a cabin cruiser
- was close to upgrading to a V210 last fall but spent the money on a pool instead. Best choice I ever made.

Great thread. Here's my 95 SS. Probably into it for more than 25, but that's because I bought it back in 04. Still want to do a stereo upgrade but that's about it. Some days I think I'd like to upgrade at some point, then I realize it's paid for and does everything I need it to do.

White ssv and white Super Sport are amazing!
I have a 89' 2001 that I picked up last year for 2500 bucks, was badly oxidized and needed a new carb. Put a new carb on her to get going and wetsanded to look like new! Over the winter put a new interior in and shes as good as new. Run 300 concrete under the nose, 550 on each side of the motor and a 750 in the back. Cant go wrong with coming in right under 5 grand!

This is a great thread, figured I'd throw my Supra in here
1990 Supra Conbrio
Bought the boat for $7800
Tower and racks $1200
Kicker tower speakers $350
Amps (freebie that had been laying around garage for years)
Clarion radio with two remotes $450
Wrap(s) (undisclosed since it was just cost because thats what I do for a living)
Leds $60
Powder coating all handles, wake tower $350
Little over $10K total. < of course this is not counting full stringer and floor replacement I'm in the middle of right now.
The day I brought the boat home
Discovered this, cant believe we didnt catch it looking the boat over.
within days of getting the boat I had the wrap ready to go
after installing the wrap then came the tower
on the water
Mid summer I wanted to change the boat up so I photoshopped taking the wrap over the rubrail and powder coating the handles and tower
This is how she is now (for now. LOL)
Here she is end of last summer with my old '99 tahoe with 290K miles. its been through hell. lol
And of course every boat should have a matching RC boat. LOL

Had to join just to contribute to this thread, best thing I've seen in the boat section.
1987 SN2001 I picked up for $3k a few months back, a little cleanup, added tower/speakers, and once the riding slows down will get a new interior over the offseason

Since then I've restored the trailer $650 completely reworked the stereo $2000 new Bimini and mirror $1000 lineX swimstep $200 and finally wrapped her $2000. LOVE my boat and the $0 a month payment!

1997 MC 205. The hull has 1050 hrs on it (275 on engine from PO f'up) and still looks good IMO. The best part about her is she fits in the garage.
Since buying her I've added: PP stargazer, ACME 543 prop, new steering cable, reupholstered the dog house, new tires, added interior speakers (don't buy memphis marine speakers!!!), and added a bimini.

One of the best threads on here in a long time. These boats are great! I always tell my kids, you have to use what you got. We would be riding behind a johnboat with a 9.9 if we had too. All these projects and upgrades are awesome. I love to see boats well taken care of and fixed up.

Cory, I love your saltare and that you have kept it pretty original. I really like that you didn't add a tower. It is just too classic of a looking boat to throw a tower on. I think you need a flag hold on the transom so you can have a little American flag like on the old wood boats.

Here are some pictures of my 1989 Ski Centurion TrueTrac II. I bought this boat for $4,850 and used it for three summers. I sold it last fall for$6,500… I did love this boat and still miss her. I still have people on my lake stop and ask where my little boat is.

I bought this Sportster as a repo with a partner for $11,000. Threw a tower on it and some sacks and had a blast for 6 years before selling it and purchasing the Supra 21V that was posted on the first page of this thread.

2003 Sanger V210, picked it up for a whisker over 20K 2 years ago with only 180 hours, original owner. Have added perfect pass and some ballast bags in the rear lockers.
She'll be paid off in a couple of months then its time for a heater, shower, cheapish audio upgrades and plumbing in the ballast before she's perfect for me and still under 25K.

When I saw "cost effective" I thought I could play too.
Pretty sad when you come to the "cost effective" thread and your ride is still out-classed lol!
Oh well, It's nice not having a boat payment, just means I have more $ for gas.
Personally I think we should have an "Under $5,000" thread.
1984 Supra Rider XL
Purchased in 2010 for $1,500
Spent $1,000 towing it home from TX
$400 for a replacement engine.
About $500 for various other odds and ends.
So total investment is somewhere around $4k-$5k.
I have somewhere around 1500#s of ballast (not including people) and the wake is surprisingly good. I'm gonna try to get some pics of the wake today and post-up.
Here are a couple before pics too:

Hey Travis, that case of permagrin on your face says it all! I like this run what ya brung thread here, so I'll throw in my latest...
2001 Sanger V210. Bought from the original owner w/ 325 babied hours and ALL the receipts to back up the maintenance. Interestingly enough, he bought the Sanger on the same day that I had bought the Sport Bowrider that I eventually sold to get into the V drive. 18k got me the boat that I've wanted for 16 years but could never afford. It's cherry inside and out.

'97 Malibu VLX
I have owned her since late '07 and got her for around $16k. Had a rusted out trailer and the interior was shot but fiberglass and engine were solid. I hope to have her for a very long time to come. Upgrades have included new custom vinyl, perfect pass, 9 tsunomi 1200 pump ballast system, new 7" wide blue pinstiping to cover old purple and teal original colors and a brand new trailer. All said and done I have well below $25k into her minus the gas, and I think she does everything a $60k boat can do. I love it.

Thanks. I had to throw that in the design cause I really liked it. The Malibu is the 2nd boat I have redone and now that I am into skiing more than boarding I redid my dads '96 Prostar 190. It's not a wake boat but here it is. I went with a llittle newer updated look with the MC sheild logo they use on the newer boats. Both boats used to be all white with purple/teal acsents. Got the 190 for just over $10k, 3 years ago interior was ok trailer is a universal but fiberglass and engine are good.

Hey guys,
Im brand new here I have been lurking for a while around the forums and I just bought my "deal of the decade" The boat is a 2004 Sanger V210 black scorpion 330hp. It has 182 hours on it. I got a good friend deal on it and I have just over $10,400 dollars in it complete as it sits.
Please don't kill me!!
In the images I just finished color sanding it and buffing it out as it sat in a slip for a while, it looks brand new and I couldn't be more proud of it. I would post more details on the extras, but I really don't know exactly what its got for a stereo, other then 3x12" kickers with 3 kicker amps and Bluetooth deck, it sounds great!

I've had 2 rigs that could fit into this thread.
I sold the 2001 Tige 21V this spring. Was a great boat for me for 2 years. I added the HLCD set up, full automated ballast (reversibles), new head unit and a bunch of maintenance type of items. Came with PP star gazer. It was a solid rig by the time I sold it, funny how that works out.. ha ha. It sold for mid 24's.
(new owner taking it home, surprisingly his not so idea tow vehicle didnt squat too bad)
The other is a 1997 Sunsetter, bought it for $9700. Ended up putting a re-man engine in it, around $2600 all said and done, did some interior, stereo, dual battery and perko, a lot of gel coat re-hab and the general elbow grease needed when you buy a boat from a negligent owner. 2 years later I sold it for basically what I had into it. I saw it as 2 free years of use.
