Damn, I've got to learn the secret handshake. The thought of the Marius with another foot of pop & 2 pounds lighter makes me feel all giddy inside.

J-rod I would say that its is heavy compared to a substance or a Nelson. A friend had the marius and we took the bindings off each board and the marius came out to weigh the most I also found the transend to be heavy.

squid, what are you comparing it to? if you're comparing to platinum, hype's dna/honeycomb, or lf's balsa core, then yeah, i'd have to agree with you. but compared to the nelson or substance (same size), i'd have to disagree with you. substance and nelson are both heavy boards. hell, they're all heavy! if marius is heavier, i doubt the difference is significant.

Joe, we compared it to a 138 substance to the 140 marius and also a 138 nelson. Yes like you said the nelson is a heavy board. But the marius was more heavy than the substance. You could tell buy picking it up. It could of been a heavy marius board. I do know some boards come out from the factory a little heavy than others. I know when we went to the DU factory we could use less resin and get a lighter board. People lay the boards up so they are never the same.

I'm not suprised that a 138 Sub weights less guys. Anyone can see the Marius is more board. Compare it against another MANS board like the 142 Sub for crying out loud!

it would make sense for the marius to way more than the boards mentioned. it has much more surface area than possibly any other board on the market. weight doesn't mean as much as it used to, you'll still get much more pop with the marius than almost any other board

I am going to have to weigh mine. Just by feel, I don't think it is any heavier than my bio Parks (yea, I know), or a couple other boards I have. Plati would be nice though!

No way, hyperlite's are the heaviest board on the markets. I dont know about their new L7 core, but all the biolites were a good pound or two heavier then any LF, Double Up, Gator, or CWB I owned.

Hyperlite is heavy across the board (get it... board, ha, ha). The LF Substance was the lightest board I'd ever riden until I got on my '06 Pure. The Marius isn't a light board. I'd say comperable to a Hyperlite. There is just a lot of area there. The Transcend isn't light either. There are some CWB's that are light and some that are heavy. The Absolute Platinum, Flam and Pure are all really light.

You guys know that the real advantage of the Platinum is not the weight but the incredible SNAP off the wake that the fiberglass rods add. It seriously makes it explode like no other, the weight is just a nicety on top of it.

So when is the marius platinum coming out. I sold my old marius because the thing was heavy and I already had 2 other boards?

Funny, on the board, neither LF or HL list the weights. In comparison: My 06 Marius 140 7.9 lbs My 04 Absol 141 reg 7.8 lbs 06 Absol plati 141 6.9 lbs 06 Absol reg 141 7.7 lbs Still don't think it weighs any more than my Parks, or a couple others I have though. Looks like I am in line for a Marius Plati!
