Lake Alfred, Florida – SBC Media today has announced the cancellation of Wakestock Canada, the long running event that was scheduled for August 7-9 in Ontario Canada. The WWA Wakeboard World Series will now comprise of eight events in 2015.
"It is disappointing to have an event cancelled but we are confident in what is in store for the second half of Wakeboard World Series," said WWA President Shannon Starling. "We have put a lot of effort in building the WWA Wakeboard World Series and we apologize to our competitors and sponsors for this late change. Wakestock Canada has a long history with the WWA and I know our riders share in our disappointment of not competing there this year."
The WBWS season has been very exciting thus far, with Australian rider Harley Clifford winning the first three events, but young fellow Australian rider Cory Teunissen stopped his streak with a win at the Nautique Pro Am in Lathrop, California.
The series and its riders will now begin preparing for the Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships presented by Rockstar Energy in Miami on August 12-16 at the Miami Watersports Complex.
