New Wake System is First to Deliver Consistent Waves and Wakes

New Wake System is First to Deliver Consistent Waves and Wakes

WakeTouchRathdrum, ID - WakeTouch LLC today announced AutoWake, the first wake system software to deliver consistent waves and wakes by managing a wakeboat's hull orientation, even in changing conditions.

Today's wake systems mistakenly measure ballast weight or pump time, but the hull-to-water interaction creates the wake, so AutoWake measures what actually matters: The hull's relationship to the water.

"Just having the same ballast and plate settings doesn't mean getting the same wake," said Richard Hartman of WakeTouch LLC. "Your wake is controlled by your hull's orientation in the water. AutoWake measures your hull and keeps it where it belongs. It's like cruise control for your wake."

AutoWake constantly measures hull depth and angles. When a preset is selected, AutoWake uses the boat's gates, trim tabs, ballast and other features to orient the hull to the preset values. Then, as conditions change – different passengers, different riders, varying fuel – AutoWake adjusts the hull to keep its depth and angles consistent. A consistent hull position means consistent waves and wakes with none of the frustration so familiar to users of older systems that measure the wrong things.

WakeTouch LLC also announced WakeTouch, a new helm system based on tablet computers rather than expensive custom touchscreens. Compared to custom, low-volume hardware, WakeTouch improves features and reliability while reducing cost.

"WakeTouch leverages the high production volumes of standard tablets to solve the low reliability, limited functionality, and high cost that have plagued helm instrumentation," Hartman noted.

WakeTouch LLC, an intellectual property (IP) development firm, has finished R&D on AutoWake and WakeTouch and is actively seeking a buyer for this complete package of IP including software, hardware, trade secrets and multiple issued and pending patents that will help the buyer control these technologies for many years to come.

AutoWake and WakeTouch, while complementary, can be implemented independently. For example, an instrumentation vendor could add the AutoWake software technology to its existing helm hardware.

"AutoWake and WakeTouch will make things better for everyone," Hartman said. "Boat owners will get magazine-quality waves from Day One, dealers will receive fewer frustrated phone calls and boat manufacturers will enjoy happier dealers, happier customers and recognition as technology leaders."
