LOUDON, Tenn. – Malibu Boats, the global leader in watersports towboats and the inventor of on-the-fly surf wake switching technology, announced today that it has been awarded a patent for its surfing innovations from the United States Patent Office. This is the first patent in a series of patent applications on surfing and Surf Gate®.
Malibu Boats CEO Jack Springer said, "Malibu is proud of its history of innovation that has propelled the company to the forefront of our industry. Using Malibu's proprietary water diversion technology, a watersports boat can produce a surf wave and, almost instantaneously, change the surf wave from one side of the boat to the other. Wakesurfers are finally free to surf either side of the boat with no need to wait for ballast changes or moving people around the boat. We are pleased that the Patent Office has acknowledged Malibu’s latest innovation by granting patent protection.”
