Orlando, FL - Today, Jobe proudly announced the addition of Diego Barragan Shaw to its U.S. National Wakeboard Team.
For the upcoming season Jobe announced an innovated wake range to accompany talented riders like Diego. The brand presented as many as three new shapes in its recently released 2013 catalog. With U.S. cable scenes continuing to grow exponentially, boards like the 2013 Liberty, Revolt, Brigade & Guerrilla have been produced to not only cater to the growing number of recreational U.S. park riders, but also park pros like Diego!
Diego has been involved in the wakeboarding industry for around 8 years now. He’s currently 22 years old and can be found riding, coaching and going BIG at Ski Rixen in Deerfield Beach almost daily. Diego considers himself more of a free rider, but has some significant achievements under his belt nonetheless; 3rd in Jr. Men at the 2008 World Championships in the Philippines, and his first-ever 1st place finish in 2005 at the USA CWT Nationals. “Competing with riders from all over the world is the biggest driving force to my riding”, says Diego. He continues to try and compete as much as possible, and most recently competed all over Europe and America, as well as in the Philippines, Turkey and South America. “I am grateful for my sponsors that have made many of these adventures possible and have to thank "mi familia" for the love and support they have given me all these years and continue to do so”, says Diego.
“Jobe is really excited to have signed Diego”, says JOBE Sports USA General Manager Sophie Teitelbaum. “Diego is primarily known for going huge on the cable, and he has a contagiously positive attitude and overall outlook on life!” She continues: “We recognize the ongoing expansion of cable parks in the U.S., and the ever-increasing popularity of cable riders, competitions, etc. The current Jobe wakeboard teams already include many top-ranking park riders. We want to continue to focus on this strength, by adding more park riders like Diego to our U.S. National Wakeboard Team.”
