Arnette Throws Down $1,000 For “Best Trick”

The world’s premier wakeskate series is ready to begin April 19-21 as the Rockstar Byerly Toe Jam is set to go off at The Projects in Orlando, Florida. Arnette announced today that they will be offering an additional $1,000 for the best trick throughout the entire event. Wakeskaters will appreciate the new format allowing riders the opportunity to get paid for the best trick regardless if it goes down in the finals or not.
 
Event founder, Scott Byerly, is excited to see what will go down. “Arnette has always supported me in a big way,” Byerly said. “So it’s cool to see them also supporting wakeskating like this because pushing the sport is what the Toe Jam is all about.”
 
Fans are welcome to come out to The Projects on Friday, April 20 to watch the action and celebrate Byerly’s birthday with the best wakeskaters in the world. The Toe Jam finals are also open to the public on Saturday, so be sure to make it out if you can.
 
The 2012 Toe Jam will host two categories of competition – Wake riding behind the Byerly Icon Edition Nautique and a Winch event through a 175-foot course. This setup, built by Ben Horan and the Nike crew, includes two take-off docks and a four-foot gap with two down-ledges topped with Trex rails.

Friday, April 20

• Wake Riding Qualifying (Nautique Byerly Icon Edition Boat): 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• Winch Jam Quarters & Semifinals: 9 a.m. - Dark

Saturday, April 21

• Wake Riding Finals (Nautique Byerly Icon Edition Boat): 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• Winch Jam Super Finals: 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
