The World Wake Association (WWA) and Nautique Boat Company announce the 2018 Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships presented by Rockstar Energy August 2-5 at Quarry Cable Park in Crystal Lake, Illinois. The third stop of the WWA Wake Park World Series, this action-packed event features the top professional wake park riders in the world along with all WWA amateur divisions competing in both Features Only and Traditional Cable disciplines.
The Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships event will serve as the final stop of the 2018 WWA Wake Park Points Chase Series. Each season, wake parks across the U.S. host a local series of events to qualify riders to compete for team and individual national titles. Amateur riders must place within the top five in their division through their local wake park series to qualify.
All Pro divisions may qualify through their local wake park or in the National Championships pre-qualifying round. Professional riders from around the world will kick off the fourth stop of the Wake Park World Series with U.S. riders attempting to qualify for their chance to compete at the 2018 WWA Wake Park World Championships presented by Nautique Boats in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
"We’re looking forward to taking the Nautique WWA Wake Park National Championships up north to the new Quarry Cable Park! Their first-class facility and unique features are sure to play host to some of the most progressive riding of the season. As this community of riders continues to grow, The WWA Wake Park National Championships has become a park rider reunion event for the entire family. We look forward to seeing you there!" said WWA Executive Director Corrie Wilson.
Each year this event sets the bar for wake park competition worldwide bringing together the nation's top amateurs along with an international field of elite pro riders in a family-friendly environment that pushes the sport and inspires the next generation.
