Amateur Champions Crowned at the Nautique WWA U.S. Wakeboard National Championships

ACWORTH, Ga. – Today, the nations best amateur competitors hit the water for the final time this week to compete in their respective division finals on the second day of the Nautique WWA U.S. Wakeboard National Championships at Dallas Landing Park. Riding behind the three-time Wakeboard Boat of the Year, riders of all ages and skill levels continued to raise the bar off of the award-winning Super Air Nautique G23’s incredible wake. The near perfect conditions on Lake Allatoona witnessed a total of 15 different divisions crown their U.S. National Champions on the warm Georgia day.
 
After an impressive performance during yesterday’s qualifying action, Fynn Bullock-Womble (NC) carried his momentum into the Boys (10-13) Finals with a variety of big air tricks to become the first champion crowned this week. A hard-fought battle helped Rocker Steiner (TX) secure the second position, while Thomas Herman (IN) used consistency to grab the third spot.
 
The Veterans (40 & Over) Final proved to be one of the closest battles of the week thus far, including some technical tricks by Christopher Full (WI) behind the G23’s perfectly shaped wake to earn a score of 85.00 for the national championship. Dayle Cartwright (FL) finished in second and Steve Jones (CO) took the final podium position.
 
In the Jr. Men (14-18) Final, the incredibly talented lineup of riders continued their fierce battles as they dueled for the opportunity to take home the number one position. When the final scored emerged, Mitch Kappler (NC) relied on the massive, clean wakes of the Super Air Nautique G23 to finish with the divisions overall win. He narrowly edged out Noah Wildman (IN) and Kenny Prowse (MI) in second and third, respectively.
 
Ellery Hunt (SC) displayed her silky smooth style to perfectly execute each trick combination that she threw down behind the G23 en route to her Jr. Women (14-18) victory. A solid run by Shannon Sahinbas (FL) allowed her to claim the second spot, just ahead of Alyssa Williams (NV) in third.
 
Mary Morgan Howell (AL) set the bar high with an excellent run during the early stages of the Girls (10-13) Final, ultimately distancing herself from the competition, as she could not be stopped on her way to the win. The battle for second and third was a close one, but Hollie Waldrop (FL) nailed a pair of big tricks to capture second, followed by Kyla Hendricks (WI) in third.
 
In the Masters Women (30-39) division, Kaley McNay (OR) recorded the best run of the day to lead the stacked field, which included a score of 68.33 to propel her to the Final victory. In second, Ashleigh Nyborg (NC) scored a 60.00 for an inspiring run.
 
The third day of the Nautique WWA U.S. Wakeboard National Championships is set to kick off at 9am EST on Friday, July 29, beginning with the Adaptive Finals and finishing with Pro Men and Women Qualifying. The world’s best wakeboarding athletes will compete exclusively behind the industry-leading Super Air Nautique G23 towboat as they begin their assault on becoming National Champion.
