The MastersPine Mountain, GA – The 57th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® presented by GM Marine Engine Technology showcased the highest level of waterskiing, wakeboarding, and wakeskating with the world’s best athletes competing for a spot in Sunday’s finals. The PCM, GM Marine Technology powered Ski Nautique 200 and Super Air Nautique G23 performed flawlessly pulling new course records as the bar continues to be raised each year at this prestigious event.
 
In the Women’s Tricks semifinal, Anna Gay (USA) led the field setting a new course record of 9,920 points followed by Giannina Bonnemann (GER). Team Nautique skier Natallia Berdnikava (BLR) placed third and Alex Laurentano (USA) will move on to tomorrow’s final round in fourth. In Men’s Tricks, Nautique skier and world record holder Aliaksei Zharnasek (BLR) tricked 11,690 points moving on to the finals along with Nautique teammate Josh Briant (AUS), Adam Pickos (USA), and Franck Desboyaux (FRA).
 
Congratulations to Junior Masters Slalom Champion Brooke Baldwin (USA) who competed in the junior head-to-head exhibition against Paige Rini (CAN), earning a scholarship courtesy of O’Brien.
 
For the third year, the Masters featured a final four head-to-head competition of the top finalists from the 2015 Nautique Big Dawg World Tour. The 2015 champion Jeff Rodgers scored 5@39.5-off against Todd Johnson who scored 1.5@39.5-off. Ben Favret also finished with 3@39-off against Tim Huston who scored 1@39.5-off. Rodgers will meet Favret in tomorrow’s final head-to-head round that will take place right after Pro Men’s Slalom.
 
The Women’s Slalom event saw Regina Jaquess (USA) run 3@39.5-off followed by Nautique athlete Clementine Lucine (FRA), Manon Costard (FRA), and Karen Truelove (USA). In the Men’s Slalom semifinal, world record holder and Team Nautique athlete Nate Smith (USA) finished on top tying the course record of 3.25@41-off. Smith looks clinch his third Masters title against Will Asher (GBR), Nautique Skier Jason McClintock (CAN), and Steven Neveu (CAN) in tomorrow’s final.
 
The Men Wakeskate semifinal showcased a new level of technical tricks and control behind the Super Air Nautique G23. Brian Grubb (USA) scored 84.33 points followed by Austin Polterock (USA), Reed Hansen (USA) and Danny Hampson (USA).
 
There is something magical about Robin Lake that brings the legendary Super Air Nautique G23 wake to life like nowhere else. In Women’s Wakeboarding, Nautique athlete Erika Lang (USA) had an amazing run scoring 87.00 points advancing out of heat #1 along with Raimi Merritt (USA). Nautique’s Meagan Ethell (USA) posted the highest score of the day in heat #2 with 89.33 points followed by Nicola Butler (GBR) heading into tomorrow’s final.
 
The Jump semifinals rounded out the day with Nautique skier Jacinta Carroll (AUS) just shy of the course record going 183 feet (55.9m). Regina Jaquess (USA) and Nancy Chardin (FRA), along with Lauren Morgan (USA) will advance to the finals. Freddy Krueger (USA) jumped 223 feet (67.9m) securing the Men’s Jump leader position for Sunday’s final followed by Bojan Shipner (GER), Nautique’s Ryan Dodd (CAN) and Igor Morozov (RUS).
 
The Opening Ceremonies of the 57th Masters Finals will begin tomorrow at 10:00AM with the Parade of Champions followed by the final rounds at 10:30AM. For complete up-to-date scores of the 57th Masters, please visit masterswaterski.com.
