Wakesurf Shaper Testing - Wakesurf Edge

Wakesurf Edge wakesurf shaperThe Wakesurf Edge wakesurf shaper is a little bit bigger and heavier than some of the other units we tested, but it has the common two-suction-cup style mounting system. The Wakesurf Edge is made of wood and has stainless steel suction cup handles, which account for the extra weight. The one we tested was stained and finished in dark brown, but the website has the color listed as a black "tough rubberized coating." As mentioned, it attaches to the boat with suction cups with easy to use levers that make sure the suction is solid and makes it easy to remove. The unit floats and does not have a leash. In fact, they recommend that you don't use a leash to prevent damage from the unit dragging and hitting the boat. It would be nice if it wasn't such a dark color so that it would be easier to find floating in the lake if it falls off. Fortunately, it never came off for us. In the video below you can see the wave in action at both 10 MPH and 11 MPH. The Wakesurf Edge retails for $286.
