WW: Let’s start off with some basics: name, age, hometown and how long have you been riding?
HB: My name is Hayden Berg, 16 years old, from California Bay Area and I have been riding cable for about 2 1/2 years and boat four years.
WW: Where do you normally ride and who is in your crew?
HB: I usually ride with Tanar Pigrenet , Matt Tone... all the Velocity crew and the West Coast Camps staff. I usually ride at Velocity Island Park, Lake Almanor or McClure.
WW: How did you originally get into the sport?
HB: I got into the sport because of my brother, Coop.
WW: How long have you been a camper at West Coast Camps? Has being a camper there changed your riding style or perspective on riding?
HB: I've been a camper for about four years. Yes, it has changed my riding style a lot because of watching all the coaches ride. They all have so much style. They’ve influenced my perspective of riding to just love every time I ride.
WW: What’s your favorite trick and why?
HB: My favorite trick is a double-grab 5, usually with nose and melon because I love the feeling of going really big.
WW: If you could only do one trick for the rest of your life, what would it be?
HB: It would probably be a backside 180 with any grab.
WW: What setup(s) are you riding?
HB: I am riding the new Hyperlite Union with system bindings and Byerly boots for cable and the Hyperlite Tribute for boat.
WW: What do you think is the coolest trend in wakeboarding right now?
HB: Double flips.
WW: Watching you ride, I see elements of skate, snow and surf in your style. How much time do you spend in those sports? Do you try to bring elements from each into your wakeboarding?
HB: I spend lots of time in those sports. I try to bring all those sports in my style, especially more of like a snowboard style in my riding.
WW: Why wakeboarding?
HB: I chose to pursue wakeboarding because I love the sport and all the people who do it.
WW: If you could steal a trick from any pro, what would it be and who from?
HB: The trick that I would steal is the original tuck knee tantrum to blind by Mike Schwenne.
WW: What has been the coolest experience you’ve had as a rider?
HB: Getting to ride with all the Canadians like Nick Dorsey, Dustin O'Ferrall, Keater, Dylan Miller and some more.
WW: Dream place to ride?
HB: Philippines
WW: Your life goal. What is it?
HB: Life goal is to have a good time.
WW: Thank yous or shoutouts?
HB: I would like to say thanks to my parents and family, all the WCC staff (Conor Bayuk, Mike Schwenne, Brad Larkin, Robbie Culp, BG), Jaret Brantley, VIP (Scott and April Hartmann), Hyperlite Wakeboards, Sandbox Helmets, and Water Co. #RIDEFORTONY
