Gianni BonoliWW: Name, age and location?
GB: Gianni Bonoli, 29 years old, Cesenatico, Italy.

WW: What are some fun things to do in Cesenatico, Italy?
GB: Cesenatico is a small town on the sea with a little bit more of 20,000 people, so 80% of the shops and bars are open for the summer season only, but the owners of the Wake Park Mima have a bar/pub and we are always there.

WW: How many years have you put into wakeboarding?
GB: Three to four years.

WW: Who introduced you to the sport of wakeboarding?
GB: My friend Paolo. He's an owner of the wake park. He showed me how to do my first face plant! Haha!

WW: So is your local lake Wake Park Mima?
GB: Yes, my home spot is Wake Park Mima. In Milano Marittima we have two system 2.0’s. One is the biggest in Europe (303 m).

Gianni BonoliWW: Are there some good riders that we should keep our eyes on?
GB: There are some good riders. The best is Nerchia. He goes BIG! He worked hard during the winter. Believe me, Nerchia could be a pro!

WW: I am guessing you usually have the same crew of people that you ride with?
GB: I worked at the wake park for the last three years, so I usually ride with the same people. But, I like traveling to other wake parks and meet other people. My favorite is the Thai Wake Park for sure!

WW: Do you ever ride behind a boat?
GB: No, I don't ride behind the boat.

Gianni BonoliWW: What board do you ride?
GB: I'm waiting for the Jobe Conflict set up!

WW: What do you enjoy most about wakeboarding?
GB: I love to hitting rails and I love the lifestyle!

WW: You know the saying... It’s all fun and games until somebody gets hurt. Have you been hurt?
GB: Oh, yes! I’ve broken an ankle ligament, a finger and I've had about 20 stitches.

WW: So, what are some things you enjoy doing when you're not strapped into a pair of bindings?
GB: I love to spend time with my friends and girlfriend, get a drink and talk and listen to music. I love the music and can't live without it!

WW: What has been your coolest experience as a wakeboarder?
GB: I’ve been in Thai Wake Park twice and when I was there I meet all the guys that I usually watch on the videos. A lot of them now I can call "friends." That's sick!

Gianni BonoliWW: Do you have WakeWorld.com set as your home page?
GB: Not yet, but I will.

WW: When you are trying to learn a new trick, do you have someone watching you and telling you what you need to do or are you just figuring it out as you try the trick?
GB: I watch a lot of video to learn new tricks, but there are people that give me advice! I love the world of wakeboarding because it's like a family in which a pro rider would be willing to help a beginner. That is wakeboarding!

WW: Are there any tricks that you are working on or want to work on?
GB: I'm working on Pete Rose (only big falls for now). HS front 360 stalefish rewind. Next season I wanna try HS front 900 and I'll have to work on crow mobe because I lost it.

WW: Do you do any type of training for wakeboarding?
GB: I should, but I'm too lazy to do it (haha).

Gianni BonoliWW: What is a good day for you?
GB: Wake up and go to the lake till night. Then go out with the girl and friends.

WW: Top three wakeboarders and why?
GB: I love a lot of riders: Aaron Gunn, Dom Hernler, Julian Cohen, Russell (Yiun Sang Yoon), Tobi Rittig, San Im, Guy Firer, Efi Levi and my bro, Moti Levi, but since it has to be my top three then it would be...

Lior Sofer - Always smiling. He's one of my favorite as person and as rider. He is really good and does some amazing tricks!

Another one is my buddy Daniel Grant. He needs no introduction. Dan = STYLE.

I would put the Breddas at first place. They're bringing wakeboarding to the next level! I was lucky to meet Mattias and Jeremia at Wake Paradise (awesome park in Montichiari) for a contest and I really admire their style.

WW: Sounds like you have been to quite a few wake parks. Are there any others you would like to check out?
GB: Yes! CWC and Jibtopia for sure!

WW: Is there anyone that you would like to thank?
GB: I would like to thank Paolo, Barto, Gio-Gio and all the guys from the Wake Park Mima, Jobe Italia, La Kasa dei Kolori and Proteus as they give me some cool stuff. My girlfriend and, of course, WAKEWORLD!
