Randall Harris and Chad Lowe in Mexico - Part 1

Share

Randall Harris and Chad LoweKeith Lyman’s luggage tag stared down from the bottom side of the upper bunk. Randall chuckled to himself as the soft whir from the A/C blowing through the window was the only disruption as he lay there enjoying the serenity of the tiny trailer he had commandeered for the weekend.

Apparently big air and abuse of their joints are not the only things these two wakeboarding legends have in common. A penchant for privacy is also a trait they share. That’s why I wasn’t surprised when Randall asked to forego luxuries like a bathroom and kitchen and stay in our little guest trailer rather than stay in the main house. Keith had made the same request when he was down shooting for Global Warning a few years ago.

Randall HarrisThat left Chad with a bedroom all to himself as we kicked off June somewhere south of the border with the intention to get some photos and video of these two thirty-something riders. Although conditions were a little breezy when we arrived in the early afternoon, it was as if the wind and sun were working in tandem to come together with perfect conditions for that evening.

The next morning was no different as these two professionals made it up bright and early to get some “work” in. Chad LoweWith evidence still present from the 7.2 earthquake centered at this location two years ago, we did our best to get a few shots with the rubble in the background. Photographer Randy Murray even took the boys down to a dwelling that had gotten the short end of the stick from Mother Earth for some lifestyle photography. Cracked walls, broken glass and eight-foot fluorescent lights make for some good pics!

There’s nothing quite like a lazy photo shoot weekend with plenty of gaps between shooting for naps, cornhole (bag toss), visits to the local restaurant and cantina, exploring behind the wheel /handlebars of any one of the beat down vehicles you can find in the garage and even a visit to the local village. The best part is that we could all say we were working that weekend!

Enjoy the fruits of our labor below. We’ll call this Randall & Chad in Mexico Part I since we still have some video to edit. Stay tuned for Randall & Chad in Mexico Part II.

Jesus, this is what wakeboarding is supposed to look like. Notice that limbs are not flying all over trying to squeeze in an extra robot 180. Perfect style in every frame. The gigantic half cab mute stiffy, and the totally tweaked enormous tail grab are my 2 favorite Randall shots. The poked stale fish from chad was really nice too! Thank you wakeworld, Randall and chad!

I'm with the poster above. THIS is exactly what wakeboarding should be! Big, smooth, and stylish!
