The 2018 Nautique Southwest Regatta presented by the World Wake Association brought together Nautique families from all over the Southwest region for a weekend of sun and fun on the Colorado River near the Blue Water Resort and Casino in Parker, Arizona. Participating dealerships included M2O Marine, Action Watersports and Sun Country Marine.
This exclusive experience was free to Nautique boat owners and included a list of awesome activities for attendees. There were private demos and clinics with Team Nautique athletes that provided Nautique boat owner families with the opportunity to ride and receive instruction from Shaun Murray, Josh Twelker, Erika Lang, Shawn Watson, Mike Dowdy, Jodi Grassman, Ryan Dodd, Jeff Mckee and Tommy Czeschin. We were lucky enough to have Shawn Watson go for a rider behind the WakeWorld G23! There is no doubt that the energy and enthusiasm brought to the event by these amazing riders was the highlight for many of the Nautique families in attendance.
The centerpiece of Saturday was the Poker Run, which was held at several locations throughout the river. Nautique boat owners received poker cards from the World Wake Association tent and PCM's display tent and then traveled from the Blue Water Resort & Casino to famous stops along the river in hopes of collecting a winning poker hand. Their final three cards were dealt at Parker River bars including Fox’s, Roadrunner and the Pirates Den where boaters socialized amongst each other.
Other family activities throughout the weekend included the kids waterski, wakeboard and wakesurf contest, a golf tournament and a themed dinner/awards ceremony for everyone.
When it came time for dinner, Nautique boat owners had the opportunity to share their experiences with others at their table throughout the meal. It was a great opportunity to meet new friends in the Nautique family. Awards were given out for the kids waterski, wakeboard and wakesurf competitions. Next to be recognized were the winners of the poker run. Lastly, prizes were given to the best dressed themed attire and even a prize for the person who traveled the farthest to get there.
As the season comes to end for most boaters, all participants in the 2018 Nautique Southwest Regatta are looking forward to staying connected on the water throughout the winter season and looking forward to next year's Regatta.
