9th Annual Toys For Tots Holiday Fundraiser

Total Amount Raised: $10,383

It's the ultimate win-win-win situation. Our readers go to bid on top-of-the-line wake gear, donating companies got lots of love and adoration for helping out a great cause and thousands of kids got their holidays brightened with David Williams joins the Marines at the Toys For Tots drivegifts that they otherwise would not have received!

2013 Marks the ninth year of our Toys For Tots Holiday Fundraiser. We're proud to have raised over $66,000 toward the cause over those nine years! Our amazing results are thanks to some very generous sponsors and a lot of bidders (our readers) that have grabbed some outstanding deals on wakeboarding equipment while helping a good cause. Your efforts have made a lot of underprivileged children's holidays a lot brighter.

This year's auctions have already concluded, but, as you can see from the sponsor list below, it was another great year. We had $75,000 worth of wake gear to bid on with all profits going towards the U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots program.

This year's top auction item was donated by Tige Boats. They came through again this year with the donation of a Tige R20 at a very low cost and we were able to sell it above that cost and bring in $2,000!

Rounding out the top 10 donors were Wet Sounds ($685), Wake Makers ($669), Danny Harf ($628), Tarah Mikacich ($560), CWB Board Co. ($547), Rusty Malinoski ($511), Shawn Watson ($504), Sean O'Brien ($455) and Nicola Butler ($394).

As you can see in the video below, the fun part comes when we take the money raised and see how much we can spend with one trip to the toy store. Last year we filled 10 shopping carts and two vehicles with 300 toys and five bikes to continue this great WakeWorld family tradition. Once the purchases were made, we headed to our local Marine Corps toy drive at the airport in Ramona to drop off the toys and present the Marine Corps with a check for the balance.

Toys For Tots collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
