Eight years of Toys For Tots auctions and it just keeps getting better every time! Our readers got to bid on top-of-the-line wake gear, the great sponsors listed below get love and adoration for helping out a great cause and thousands of kids get their holidays brightened with gifts that they otherwise would not have received!
2012 Marks the eighth year of our Toys For Tots Holiday Fundraiser. We're proud to have raised over $56,000 toward the cause during those eight years! Our phenomenal results are thanks to some very generous sponsors and a lot of bidders that have grabbed some outstanding deals on wakeboarding equipment while helping a good cause.
This year's auctions have already concluded, but, as you can see from the sponsor list below, it was another great year. We had over $75,000 worth of wake gear to bid on with all profits going towards the U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots program.
This year's top auction item was donated by Monster Tower. They stepped it up this year with the donation of their MTk Universal Tower, which brought in $1,325!
Rounding out the top five donors (with the amount raised in parentheses) were CWB Board Co. ($756.79), Wet Sounds ($676.01), Kicker ($580.49) and Slingshot ($531.52).
One of our most unique items, and the one that brought in the most amount of money over its retail value, was a skate deck signed by skateboarding legend Steve Caballero donated by Ohana Board Shop. The deck retails for $55 and sold for $157.50!

As you can see in the video below, the fun part comes when we take the money raised and see how much we can spend with one trip to the toy store. This year we filled 10 shopping carts and two vehicles with 300 toys and five bikes to continue this great WakeWorld family tradition. Once the purchases were made, we headed to our local Marine Corps toy drive at the airport in Ramona to drop off the toys and present the Marine Corps with a check for the balance.
Toys For Tots collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
