2021 Wake Park Worlds

Share

2021 Wake Park WorldsThe 2021 WWA Wakepark World Championship was just held last weekend at the Orlando Watersports Complex. OWC should need no introduction, but if you've been living under a rock for the last 20 years or you're just new to the sport I would tell you that it's one of the best all-around watersports complexes in the world. It's not only one of the oldest parks in the U.S., but it also has been the home cable to such legends as Parks Bonifay, Shaun Murray and many more legendary wake icons.

The contest took place from September 10-12 and the event was action-packed from 8 am to 3 pm every day. The first day was on Friday and, right after a bright and early riders meeting at 8 am, the traditional style heats started going off. Starting with the Boys category, followed by the Masters divisions, Veterans, Junior men and many more. Towards the end of the first day, we even had the chance to see some of the pro wakeskaters throw down. Last, but not least, the Pro Women heat finished off the day.

Saturday was another great day with beautiful weather and a lot of cool riding to keep our eyes on. That day was mainly the Features events focused mostly on the Pro categories where we saw some never-before-seen combos and tricks that had the spectators and cameras rolling.

Gavin Stuckey ended up taking home first place in the Features-only category, while his brother, Trent, took home the gold in the Traditional category by linking his crazy air tricks together with a lot of technical rail and kicker hits.

2021 Wake Park WorldsThe event was capped off by a true Sunday Funday where we had the chance to see some adaptive riding as well as other final rounds that finished off the event. Overall, everyone had a great time with tons of new motivation. As soon as it was all over, everyone was eager to jump out there on the water and have some fun on the brand new OWC setup that they specifically made for the contest.
