PTW #3 - Video

Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard TourCOLORADO SPRINGS, Co. - The third stop of the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour went off at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, Co., on Saturday. Last seen on the tour in 2011, the location once again drew in a massive crowd of wake fans to experience first-hand the world-class wakeboarding competition.

Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard TourAfter the first two stops of the 2017 season, which consecutively raised the bar for record-setting finals rounds, the pressure was on in Colorado Springs. Team Supra rider Nic Rapa, the 2016 Rookie of the Year, put on an exemplary performance to earn his career-first Pro Wakeboard Tour win.

A nearly flawless finals run—featuring huge, stand-out tricks like an Indy Moby Dick (backflip with 360-degree turn) and a Switch Double Half-Cab Roll (double backflip with 180-degree turn)—propelled Rapa (AUS) to the top spot, ahead of Harley Clifford (AUS) in second and defending champion Mike Dowdy (USA) in third.

With only one stop left in the tour, it will be a tight race for ultimate victory as only a few points separate Rapa, Clifford and Dowdy for the overall title.

Double-threat Noah Flegel, the only athlete to compete in both divisions of the tour, once again topped the wakesurf category on Saturday after an impressive, action-packed finals run. Aaron Witherell and newcomer Sean Silveira follow in second and third place, respectively.

Flegel, who maintains a solid lead in the surf rankings leading into the final competition of the year, looks to be well-positioned for his second overall title in a row.

The Supra Boats SA550 is the official tow boat for the tour again in 2017. Purpose-built to create clean, consistent and controlled wakes, it is designed to push athletes to new levels while preserving strict handling and a balanced ride for those onboard.

The Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour concludes on Aug. 12 at Voice of America MetroPark in West Chester, Ohio.
