Anyone done it? I am concerned the length of the speaker will give me some problems in the bow area. According to my prelim measurements its right at the maximum allowance. I don't want to have to use spacers or LED rings.

I am also tossing around the JL 6.5's

You can also pull the rubber magnet cover boot off and gain a little bit more room. Pretty sure it would fit then.

I installed some xs650's in a 1999 205V last year. We installed some led light rings behind the speakers. There were no clearance issues. I believe that the speakers would have fit fine without the led rings.

I have them in a 2006 X1 in the stock locations. It worked out great. They are awesome speakers.
