Hey everyone.. I am planning on mounting my Amplifier, amp fuse, blue seas switch and relay, RGB controller and an led light to a panel then mounting it here.. The engine bay is Hugeeeee. anything I should be worried about with heat??
If it’s not too hot for the battery, it’s probably not too hot for an amp. You could always measure temps in the compartment to make sure. My engine bay gets dirty over time. You may get a little soot on your equipment over time but that would be minimal. More concerning to me would be a leak in the coolant system. If something like a coolant hose fails, it’s going to spray water all over that compartment. I’ve had that happen. It’s not fun. I really don’t even like the battery being in the engine compartment. I would be very uncomfortable having an amp and light controller in there. Keep in mind this is just my opinion and it’s based on a failure I’ve personally had happen but is admittedly pretty rare.
