I'm trying to get more ppl on a nice boat. And I would like to give ppl a chance to get a pull who may not have the means to get one. I'm good at getting kids/ppl up for the first time. (24 ppl last year) how much would b fair to do it for? 20 bucks for a 1/2 hour session? To much? Thanks for ur input.

25-30 I think is acceptable. If it's a full 1/2 hour. Cool idea.

How about just do it for free? If you can afford a nice boat, what is $20 here and there to teach people how to wakeboard?

for Wakeboarding, half hour is to much - 15Min sessions are more then enough for most.

About for free - yeah, you can do it and i do it from time to time, but the sport is expensive and fuel is only one part of the cost. With more people you get more engine hour, more service cost... So when you only do it from time to time, why not for free.. for example, i'm alone and i already spend 2200.- for gas. I pay for the boat, the mooring place, tax, repair, equipment to board and surf, vests and everthing else.. so the other should pay for gas and a part of the service cost.

For free,I do that now,but as said it cost money. And honestly I live on the water. I hit 2 buttons boat drops in water.. I've got 125 hours on new boat. So there is times I don't want to boat. So times like that,y do it free, when I don't really want too.. also I pay for gas, ins,I'm on my 4th oil change (140 bucks) and if it wasn't pay for,I would have a big boat payment. Then the biggest factor, the ppl who take advantage. Who want to ridentify all the time,20 min sets, and never give gas money. I'm not trying to get rich, but b nice to get a lil help with expenses. Lota ppl can afford a 125,000 boat,so I think for 20 buck, for a 1/2 set ain't to much to ask.

Schools charge $75-100 a set. $20 behind the boat the pulls the PWT is a steal!

Your operating costs are way higher than $1 a min.

If you paid for the boat, and care a little about money, then $100/ per 30 min. is fair. You may break even at that point.

Schools charge roughly $70-150 due to the fact that they get a boat for free or are on promo type deal.

I'd happily pay $20 to surf behind you rig, I'd feel like I was stealing from you though. The people that don't own a boat wouldn't know the difference.

I accept donations, and $20 is pretty standard for 1 set. Usually that's 15-30mins of surfing or boarding, depending on your stamina. I lose money on the boat every summer but most of my friends are not big ballin' so I eat it. Just like paying for the lake house or a hundred other things...

John,I agree. That's my 1 and only hobby. I'm just trying to get a bigger verity of ppl on a nice boat, with costing then an arm and leg. Buy yet it helps a lil with gas. I got my question answered. I think it's fair price. So if anyone ever in Wisconsin, hit me up

Hey Chris what lake u on? For just taking a set behind the boat or when I go ride someone else's boat it seems $10 covers the fuel costs for a normal set. Last summer when gas was pushing $3.85 we were exchanging $15 a set. U ever get over to Madison area?

Chris,

How do you set your boat up for wakeboarding? I hear the SA likes weight in the rear if you add extra weight.. No extra in the bow other than stock. Is that what you have found with your boat too?
Old     (chrisbucklin)      Join Date: Mar 2012       07-26-2015, 6:28 PM Reply
Dtb, I've got the 1050's in bac . So I just ordered some led bags for front. So will all the weight I've got now,we run about 75% in back and full up front. But remember my boat came with I think 750 in each back, and we put 1050,or 1150'should in (don't remember lol) so we r goin to try and add a few hundered up front. When I pull our local tournaments, with outlaw,we run at the 75,back 100 front

OK. Mine will have 750's and I have #600 of Leadwake bags on hand. I'll stick all that in the back and I think I should be good.

Hey Chris, really appreciated your generosity for the pulls you gave my wife and I while we were up in Fremont for the tournament a couple of weeks ago.

I hope we can ride together again the next time I visit the Fort!

Hi Chris - also appreciate the pull you gave my son prior to the wake the dead 3 demo. You have a sweet boat and I don't think it's unrealistic to pay for gas on an organized session. Besides, the convenience that the rider has in not having to launch a boat, find a spotter, etc.

We'll also be at the pwt on Saturday, and have a Supra demo session scheduled as part of the VIP pass.
