I think it would look more proportioned if it had dual wheels in the back with Ford dually fenders. That would also give you a lot more stability.

Def a sick ride. I would love to have that too. You could get into some nasty places with that. The main company behind the 4x4 van conversions is Sportsmobile. They make the sickest vans.

The Sportsmobile is way, way overpriced! By a stock E350 with a diesel or V10, take it to Quigley for a four wheel drive conversion and do the interior yourself! Get a set of Bushwacker or Warn fender flares and you are set!

Not sure if anyone's checked the price of Sportsmobiles, but they are super expensive! Definitely BA though!

Negatory on that! The Airstream is top quality, plus you have a full bed up top...

Thats an Airstream? Wow, I did not know that they even built such a thing, my mistake. If its like the rest of their fleet its top notch. (Message edited by woreout on November 18, 2009)

I would absolutely love to have a sportsmobile, but the $100k price is a bit prohibitive. If I had the coin, though, there would be no question. I've been looking at econoline vans to convert for a lake/dirtbiking mobile and they're really cheap. If you don't need 4wd you can get into a van for under $3k for a pretty nice vehicle (on craigs list all day long). Then throw some coin into the interior and you're set. If you really need the 4wd it's not that hard of a conversion and could probably be done for a couple grand with access to a junkyard. If I didn't have a F250 that already spent a bunch of time sitting in front of my house I'd be on top of the project already.

i would take ant of those in a heart beat. In cali to have something like that to mob up to the mtns to snowboard and then party at the bar and stumble back to your van and do it again in the morning is priceless. You could hit so many more places with that thing. Also to pull my boat from time to time. You need a 4x4 to get to the mtns out here when the good are there pulling a trailer is all bad

I've thought about that before, too. How sick would it be to roll into a resort the night before a big dump, wake up in the morning right at the front of the parking lot? Make yourself some coffee and hit the mountains. SICK!!! Can't beat a 4wd van. One of my buddies was trying forever to sell one when I was in high school. It was all pimped out. 4X4 with a 460 big block in it and full camper interior. I could have gotten it for a couple grand. Man I'd love a deal like that now. He couldn't give the thing away.

When I was in highschool my dad had a 4x4 ford van with captains chairs and a big couch in the back. We used pack 20 highschool kids in it, stuff as keg in the back and throw the service hose out of the window, pull up to a big bonfire and chill at big parties. That thing was bomb back in the day! Looking back on it, I would have killed my son if he would have done that with my rig! Nick that van is Bad A!

You can get a Sportsmobile top put on your late model van for about $4-5K or so. That's about the cost of a high end tower these days. My next vehicle is going to be a slightly used late model van that I have sportsmobile pop top and then put a pre-runner type suspension and wheels on. No need to spend $80-100K on on one when you can get most of the functionality for about $20K

Quigley and Salem Kroger will do a Chevy conversion. You can get an AWD Chevy from the factory though... Chevy doing the Moab Rim Trail in Moab, UT. That is the Colorado River in the background... This van just sold on eBay a couple months ago...

Another Chevy came up today... I think it will go for cheap too! Chevy I might bid on it and rip out the interior... I have a small block 400 that I could put in it...
