Awhile back I had posted asking if anyone had done installs for an X45. My buddy picked up an '07 and was looking for ideas. Here is what he came up with.
JL 12W7 in a 1.75 cu ft vented enclosure
Alpine PDX 1000 - powering the subs
Alpine PDX 4150 - cabin (4 JL 7.7's)
Alpine PDX 4150 - 2 chn for Bow (2 JL 7.7's)
JL (?) - powering tower speakers

First he had to relocate the electronics so he built a shelf and moved everything.

Built the 1.75 cu ft enclosure out of birch plywood, fully truck bed coated it.

At first he built a frame out of wood and covered it in 3M Dinoc Carbon Fiber but didn't like that. I made a LED ring out of Corian for it.

Another buddy, who does Corian counter tops for a living, made a Corian ring to see how that would look. Still working on a full solution, one that has a grill to cover the sub but this is what he has for now.

The little white wire that you see in the last pic is the IR sensor for the RGB LED's.

Sorry that the pics are dark, I uploaded them to Photobucket to get them on to my computer and it looks like a filter was applied or something.

Nice work...I wish I had the guts to start hacking into my gelcoat.

That's strange I have an 07 X45 and I do not have a heater vent in that location. I don't want to hack into the gel in that area anyway. I have 3 subs in a box taking up the space behind the drivers seat.

Are u sure that's enough room for a Ported box. 12w7 sealed needs 1.375 . And then I saw you said you had a Alpine 1000 powering "the Subs" does this mean the 1000 is pushing more then just the W7?

JL says they recommend a 1.75cu ft box for a port and tuned at 32hz, as long as he took into account the .14 that the speaker takes up..

The other problem I see is the face of the box is supposed to be 1.5" thick that the sun mounts too and that definitely is not.

Single sub, 1.75 cu ft net. Box was built off of JL's specs on their website as far as port width and length for the volume. Face is 3/4" and then it mounts to the LED ring which is 5/8" thick corian. This is the 3rd box like this and he hasn't run into any issues before, not sure why it would be one now.
He still has the factory 10" behind the seat in there but it is not hooked up right now.
