Cold cold and more cold. Glassy in the mornings, wind chop by noon. Usually not much boat traffic even on weekends. No real coves so when the wind picks up the day is over, but it's a good lake if you can handle the water temp. Last time I was up there was for a friends graduation party and the water temp was something like a brisk 47 degrees in early June. Don't know how warm it gets by July/August though but I imagine it's not too bad then.

yeah, pretty much exactly what ryan says. it's more of a fisherman's lake. very cold water from nearby snowpack runoff. it really never warms up. it's a beautiful place, but man, there are a lot of skeets. go a little further over to eastern washington, lake entiat, lake roosevelt, lincoln rock state park, banks lake, etc.

i know it's a haul for ya, but we just got back from banks lake and they've built these new villas over there that are awesome. if you can take a 3 or 4 day weekend, it's totally worth it. may be tough to get in this late in the season, but would be worth a try. we had so much fun, we re-reserved our same villa for next year same time. they have 2,3,4 and 5 bedrooms for rent. they're all fully furnished, full kitchen with full sized appliances, washer dryer, wireless internet, tv, dvd, etc. they're pimp. while we were there it was 90+* all week and the water near steamboat rock was 75*!!! incredible. www.sunbanksresort.com

I don't think I would even consider boarding at Lk Wenatchee. Nice place to visit and camp, but not for riding. I third the further east, Banks is great. We stayed at the Sunbanks resort last year. They did not have the new villas built so we car camped it. The car camping is "unique", REALLY close quarters to your neighbors. They do have docks for cheap though. I think we'll plan on getting a villa next year.
