This post is more for information than questions so someone can hopefully find the info they need.
Steering cable replacement on a 2003 Sanger V230

I have been dealing with a steering cable that was hard to turn, like two hands hard to go lock to lock. I finally decided to replace it and called around to Sanger "dealers" who all told me they had no idea what length I needed?! One place even told me, I just ordered one for a V210, your 230 should be the same. Ya, right. okay now what. I didn't want to pull the cable out till I had one in my hands but that is what I had to do. I got it unbolted from the helm, then from the rudder. I tied a string/rope to the rudder end and pulled. Nothing happened. There is another mounting spot conveniently located under EVERYTHING that holds a ball like part of the housing. Once that was removed I was able to pull it out from under the dash without much trouble. The housing has a teleflex number on it SSC13423. the last two numbers are the footage. there is a new cable the supersedes that one and its more heavy duty apparently. It's number is SSC15423. Got one of those ordered and now I wait for a week while it ships. Hopefully everything goes back together
